Jenny Pink Take Seven

Here is the scarf a little over half way finished. The double wrapping the thin areas seemed to help bulk it up a bit where needed, leaving the interest of thick and thin in place. Ran out of the right thickness of yarn so I spun some more and will try it out soon.

This is probably the last I will show of this scarf until it is finished and I find someone to model it.

Jenny Pink Take Six

When the scarf got to this point I realized that some of the thin areas might be vulnerable to pulling when worn. All this work ending up stretched out did not seem like a good thing.

Someone on the WetCanvas Fiber Arts thread suggested double wrapping the thin parts to bulk it up some. Soooooo, I pulled it out just about to the point of the last picture shown and started up again. As maddening as ripping out work can sometimes be, knitting is much more forgiving than glass. You get do overs. That's a good thing.

Jenny Pink Take Five

Here's where it gets interesting. The first bit of yarn was thicker than the rest. I intentionally tried to make it thicker and thinner in some parts because I like the look. This was not what I was going for.

Thought about ripping it out, but decided to leave the end all chunky, spin so thicker yarn to do something similar to the other end when I get there.

Jenny Pink Take Four

Yes Elaine, I really did spin this yarn!

Here is the first inch of Jenny's scarf. It knits beautifully and it's so exciting to watch the yarn develop into something so pretty.

Jenny Pink Take Three

Here is Jenny Pink all washed up, rolled into a skein, and ready for knitting. Wish you could feel how soft it is.

Jenny Pink Take Two

Almost got too busy to blog today.

Here's how Jenny Pink looks spun up, but before setting. The yarn is soaked in sudsy water to set the spin/twist and keep it from unraveling.

LOVE this color!

Jenny Pink

Before the trip to Solvang, I asked niece Jenny if she wanted anything. Her answer was, "Something pink." Smart girl!

This is a gorgeous, soft merino silk blend that is going to make a beautiful scarf very soon.
